General Info Executive Director: Dave Peterson, CPRP (847) 428-7131 x4001 | davepeterson@dtpd.org Message from the Executive Director
The Board of Commissioners and staff wish you a fun and healthy summer and invite you to enjoy our parks and facilities. Our newest parks—Hickory Hill and Canterfield, partially funded by OSLAD grants—feature shelters, walking trails, playgrounds, baggo, and more. These parks, along with 40+ locations mapped in this guide, offer recreational amenities throughout Dundee Township. Take time to visit our pools, tennis courts, recreation and fitness centers, Randall Oaks Zoo, and the Randall Oaks and Bonnie Dundee golf courses. Enjoy free Concerts in the Parks, Family Fun Nights, fireworks, and a wide variety of programs for all ages. There are plenty of opportunities to recreate! Financial Sustainability The Board of Commissioners has engaged 110% and Jamie Sabbach to lead a comprehensive financial review and to set cost-recovery and subsidy-investment goals to support the District’s long-term sustainability. Capital projects are being closely evaluated to ensure responsible stewardship for future generations. This work began in December and is expected to conclude in early summer.
More information is forthcoming as the board and staff work closely with 110%. Park District Finances Staff anticipates an April 30, 2026, fiscal year-end with a slight overall decrease in funds, performing better than the adopted budget. This is due to higher than anticipated participation in programs, golf, and fitness activities. The Park District’s fund balance policy is reviewed annually to ensure a fiduciary approach. The agency has received the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting eight times in a row and anticipates receiving a ninth for the fiscal year ended April 30, 2026. Enjoy everything we have to offer, and please provide feedback to the staff and me, as this helps us to strive to continuously improve. Our board meetings are scheduled for the first and third Wednesdays of each month, and information is available on our website at www.dtpd.org.
