Dance Ballet II

Kinder Tap & Jazz 5-6 years In this energetic class, students will perfect their skills. Shuffles, Irish’s, Flaps and other basic steps will be taught, as well as jazz steps and fun creative dances. One session of previous dance experience preferred. 14310-00 Jan. 6-May 5* M/4:00-4:45 pm $240(R)/$260(NR) RA *No Class: 1/20, 2/17, 3/31 Tap & Jazz I 6-8 years This is an introduction to tap and jazz, focusing on the funda mental footwork and technique of tap and jazz dancing. This class is geared towards the dancer who has had little to no dance training. Class begins with a center warm-up and progresses to steps across the floor, combinations, and repetitive exercises. This class will create a strong foundation for the beginner dancer. 14350-00 Jan. 6-May 5* M/5:00-5:45 pm $240(R)/$260(NR) RA *No Class: 1/20, 2/17, 3/31 Tap & Jazz II 8-19 years Dancers will develop a keen sense of rhythm and balance. This beginner/intermediate level class is appropriate for the dancer who has had some experience with tap and/or jazz dance and is looking to continue training. This class will build the develop ment of technique & terminology. Students will further develop skills, including musicality and sound clarity. 14351-00 Jan. 6-May 5* M/6:00-7:00 pm $259(R)/$279(NR) RA *No Class: 1/20, 2/17, 3/31 Teen Tap 11-19 years This beginner/intermediate tap class is a great opportunity for those who have never danced or who are coming back into dance. Class begins with a center warm up, progresses to across the floor combinations and then a center combination. This class will focus on the development of tap technique and terminology. 14353-00 Jan. 6-May 5* M/7:15-8:15 pm $259(R)/$279(NR) RA *No Class: 1/20, 2/17, 3/31 Street Dance I 6-9 years Learn age-appropriate dance moves to upbeat music with an emphasis on rhythm and attitude. 14315-00 Jan. 10-May 2* F/5:00-5:45 pm $231(R)/$251(NR) RA 9-12 years Join us in dancing to upbeat music! While emphasizing on rhythm and attitude, dancers will also be encouraged to choreo graph for a group. 14316-00 Jan. 10-May 2 2/28*F/5:50-6:50 pm $249(R)/$269(NR) RA *No Class: 2/28, 4/4, 4/18 Street Dance III 12-18 years This class will teach more difficult hip hop dance moves and focus on musicality and precision in movements. 14317-00 Jan. 10-May 2* F/7:00-8:00 pm $249(R)/$269(NR) RA *No Class: 2/28, 4/4, 4/18 *No Class: 2/28, 4/4, 4/18 Street Dance II

9-12 years Proper placement and control to execute ballet moves will be in cluded. Students will also focus on strength and flexibility. Students should also be enrolled in Ballet II or III. Readiness for pointe work is determined by each student’s strength and physical development, not by age. Instructors will notify parents and students when they have the necessary strength and maturity to go on to pointe 14304-00 Jan. 7-May 6* Tu/6:00-6:15 pm $63(R)/$83(NR) RA *No Class: 4/1 Pointe I 12-18 years Students must have prior ballet experience and be enrolled in Ballet III. This class will include barre exercises, across the floor combination and center work. 14309-00 Jan. 7-May 6* Tu/7:30-8:00 pm $185(R)/$205(NR) RA *No Class: 4/1 Contemporary II 9-12 years A style of expressive dance combined with classical, jazz, and modern elements to connect the mind and body through move ment. Students must also be enrolled in a ballet class. 14306-00 Jan. 8-May 7* W/5:00-6:00 pm $280(R)/$300(NR) RA *No Class: 4/2 Contemporary III 11-18 years An expressive dance style combined with classical, jazz, and modern elements connects the body and mind through move ment. Students will work on refining their technique and per formance skills. Additional enrollment in Ballet II or higher is required for this class. 14307-00 Jan. 8-May 7* W/6:00-7:00 pm $280(R)/$300(NR) RA *No Class: 4/2 Mini Jazz 4-6 years A fun, rhythmic style that introduces the basic jazz steps to young dancers.
