Contemporary II 9-12 years A style of expressive dance combined with classical, jazz, and modern elements to connect the mind and body through movement. Students will work on refining their technique and performance skills. While emphasizing on rhythm and attitude, dancers will also be encouraged to choreograph for a group. 14316-00 Jan. 13-May 5* F/6:15-7:00 pm $204(R)/$219(NR) RA *No Class: 3/3, 3/31, 4/7, 4/28 Hip Hop III 12-18 years This class will teach more difficult hip hop dance moves and focus on musicality and precision in movements. 14317-00 Jan. 13-May 5* F/7:00-7:45 pm $204(R)/$219(NR) RA *No Class: 3/3, 3/31, 4/7, 4/28 Mini Jazz 4-6 years A fun, rhythmic style that introduces the basic jazz steps to young dancers. This class focuses on developing the love of dance and movement, as well as building self-confidence. 14322-00 Jan. 7-May 6* Sa/10:00-10:45 am $217(R)/$232(NR) RA *No Class: 1/14, 2/18, 4/1 Kinder Tap & Jazz 5-6 years In this energetic class, students will perfect their skills. Shuffles, Irish’s, Flaps and other basic steps will be taught, as well as jazz steps and fun creative dances. Tap & Jazz I 6-8 years This is an introduction to tap and jazz, focusing on the funda mental footwork and technique of tap and jazz dancing. This class is geared towards the dancer who has had little to no dance training. Class begins with a center warm-up and pro gresses to steps across the floor, combinations, and repetitive exercises. Creating a strong foundation for the beginner dancer. 14350-00 Jan. 9-May 8* M/4:45-5:30 pm $217(R)/$232(NR) RA *No Class: 1/16, 2/20, 3/27 Tap & Jazz II 8-19 years Dancers will develop a keen sense of rhythm and balance. This beginner/intermediate level class is appropriate for the dancer who has had some experience with tap and/or jazz dance and is looking to continue training. This class will build the devel opment of technique and terminology. Students will further develop skills, including musicality and sound clarity. 14351-00 Jan. 9-May 8* M/5:45-6:45 pm $236(R)/$251(NR) RA *No Class: 1/16, 2/20, 3/27 Teen Tap 11-19 years This beginner/intermediate tap class is a great opportunity for those who have never danced or who are coming back into dance. Class begins with a center warm up, progresses to across the floor combinations and then a center combination. This class will focus on the development of tap technique and terminology. 14353-00 Jan. 9-May 8* M/8:00-9:00 pm $236(R)/$251(NR) RA 12-18 years Dancers will be challenged and improve their jazz technique. Learn new choreography and will have the chance to perform their routine at events in addition to the spring dance recital. Prior dance experience is required. Final class enrollment is up to the instructor’s discretion. 14356-00 Jan. 11-May 10* W/7:00-8:00 pm $255(R)/$270(NR) RA *No Class: 3/29 Adult Beginner Tap 18 years & older This fun atmosphere will provide an introduction to tap, focusing on the fundamental footwork and techniques of tap dancing and rhythm. Routines will be taught. 14325-00 Jan. 10-Feb. 14 Tu/12:00-12:50 pm $27* RA 14325-01 Feb. 21-March 28 Tu/12:00-12:50 pm $27* RA 18 years & older Advanced tap goes deeper into the detail of footwork and rhythm combinations while still focusing on the technique behind the work.
