We often explore the city of Chicago, suburban areas, and even nearby states. Our trips happen year-round, so take a look and get ready to explore with us! Day Trips 50 years & older M=50+ Club Member | NM= Non 50+ Club Member Blueberries & Blue Chip The sandy soil found this side of Lake Michigan contributes to the very best blueberries one can find. Pick your own blueberries off the very tall bushes - no bending required. Pre-picked berries are also available in 5 lb. and 10 lb. con tainers, but must be ordered in advance. Our next stop is Blue Chip Casino, where you can play their slots and table games. Lunch is available for purchase at Nelson’s Deli. Learn how the Hardys flew a herd of reindeer in from Alaska and raised them on a Midwest farm. We will also have the best darn bbq this side of the great divide with sliced beef brisket, cowboy beans, au gratin potatoes, sweet & sour slaw, sweet cornbread, and hot apple pie. Branson style entertainment will get your boots stompin’ with music and comedy. Visit the gift shop, and, weather permitting, take a buggy ride farm tour through the Christmas trees. Afterwards, you will enjoy a BB Riverboat’s Sightseeing Cruise on the Ohio River. A $75 deposit is re quired at time of registration. You will receive a packet to fill out with an itinerary 3 weeks prior to the trip. Wandering Tree Estate The gardens at Wandering Tree Estate are unlike anything in the Chicago suburban area. There are several gardens on the estate to explore, ranging from quaint English-inspired rose gardens to a Japanese garden with waterfalls and its very own miniature bridge. After touring the estate, we will be heading to Chessie’s Atrium in Barrington for lunch. Menu TBD. There is a moderate amount of walking on this trip. Palatine will be joining us for this trip. Protocols may include proof of vaccination and mask enforcement for all. Cubs Game Join us at Wrigley Field for Chicago Cubs vs. Atlanta Braves. Cost includes a ticket to the game and transportation. No meal is included. There is a moderate amount of walking with this trip and also stairs to get to our seats located in Section 228.
