Flag Spinning/Baton Flag Spinning

Baton Please wear athletic clothing that is easy to move in, tennis shoes, and have hair pulled back off of the face. Batons will be available to purchase from the instructor. 4-5 years “Ready, set, twirl!” Learn the basics of baton twirling and dance in this special class, just for younger students. Dance, marching, musicality, and rhythm will be incorporated into combinations and routines. Basic full hand twirls, simple tosses, and dance steps will be combined into fun combinations. Students will improve hand-eye coordination, musicality, and rhythm learning both individual skills and short routines. Contractual 34260-00 June 6-July 18* Th/5:00-6:00 pm $53(R)/$73(NR) RA *No Class: 7/4 6-14 years Building on the skills from Level 1, more complex twirling and dance skills will be introduced. Get ready for a variety of releases and catches in both hands, high aerials, and more difficult rolls. Performance opportunities may be available. Contractual 34261-00 June 6-July 18* Th/6:00-7:00 pm $53(R)/$73(NR) RA *No Class: 7/4 6-14 years This class is for twirlers who want to start competing in individu al events and are enrolled in Level 2 or higher. Students will learn a solo twirling routine and be introduced to the fundamentals of competitive baton twirling. Students will learn flag spinning and tossing fundamentals, technique exercises, choreography with music while building hand-eye coordination, self-esteem, and confidence. Students will learn basic flag spinning, tossing fundamentals, technique exercises, and short routines to music while building hand-eye coordination, self-esteem, and confidence. May enroll in Level 1 multiple times to gain more experience, achievement, and poise. Family and friends are invited to a special showcase performance on July 16. Flag spinning, tossing, dancing, technique, exchanges and intermediate level choreography will be taught by Allegiance Color Guard coaches. Content will be differentiated according to students’ abilities. Routines will be more layered and complex than Level 1. This class can supplement and enrich marching band color guard student’s skills. May enroll in Level 2 multiple times for more in-depth skill development and achievement. Family and friends are invited to a special showcase performance on July 16.
