Youth Spanish 7-11 years Join us right from your living room as we explore new cultures and learn the Spanish language via the interactive Zoom platform! You child will learn conversational Spanish as well as some Spanish phonetics to begin reading and writing in Spanish. New and exciting material each session! Children will create their own balloon animals, with Gary walking them through each step in the process. You can sign up again since each session makes different animals. (Note: you will need your own balloons and balloon pump. The pump and balloons cost about $13, and when you register, you will be given information on places to purchase these.) International Cooking Camp 9-15 years Each week we will make a different recipe from around the world. (Crepes, fried rice, homemade pasta, pizza, pretzels, etc.) All participants that take the class in person will be provided an ingredient kit and a recipe card. New recipes are offered at each camp session. In the saddle you will learn the basics of riding at the walk and trot. Lessons will be held in an indoor arena during inclement weather. The first day of class is orientation and groundwork. Riders should wear jeans or jodhpurs pants and hard-soled riding or hiking boots with a small, low heel. Theater Production The Christmas Schooner: A Musical 7 years & older We are seeking adult and youth actors to join us on The Christ mas Schooner! Based on the historic Great Lakes voyages of Christmas tree ships during the late 1800s and early 1900s, The Christmas Schooner tells the true story of a Michigan shipping captain who braves the deadly winter weather to bring Christ mas trees to homesick German-American families in turn-of the century Chicago. Rehearsals will be held on Sundays from 1:00-4:00 pm from Oct. 8 - Dec. 3 at the Adult Activity Center. Additional rehearsals will be added on Tuesday evenings from 6:00-8:00 pm beginning Nov. 14. Performances will be held onstage at the Adult Activity Center on Friday Dec. 8, and Saturday Dec. 9 at 7:00 pm and Sunday Dec. 10 at 2:00 pm. Roles will be assigned based on auditions. Auditions will be held from 1:00-4:00 pm on Sunday Oct. 1. Please email steeple@dtpd.org or stop by the Rakow Center front desk to sign up for an audition slot.
