Youth Young Rembrandts - Weekly Drawing Class

Little Veterinarian School- Dog II 6-11 years Students will role-play the key staff functions performed at a veterinary office and how to keep their “adopted” plush puppy healthy. These future veterinarians will explore digestion, the different parts of the canine eye, animal body language and how x-rays are used to diagnose and treat common illnesses. Students will adopt and name their plush horse and learn the anatomy and maintenance of a horse. They will also learn basic horse nutri tion, riding styles, gaits and role-play the basic key responsibili ties of an equine veterinarian. Contractual 44201-00 Nov. 9-Dec. 21* Th/4:15-5:15 pm $180(R)/$200(NR) RORC *No Class: 11/23 Little Doctor School 6-11 years Through role-play and activities, students will learn the key responsibilities of a doctor and explore the heart, lungs, and digestion. Students will use real medical instruments (stethoscope, reflex hammer, and blood pressure cuff) and practice scrub bing, suturing and tying knots like a real surgeon. Contractual 44211-00 Sept. 28-Nov. 2 Th/5:30-6:30 pm $165(R)/$185(NR) RORC Little Doctor School II 6-11 years These future doctors will learn about prescriptions, explore the brain and spine, and learn about vital bodily functions through hands-on activities and role-play. Students will build a first aid kit and create models of the brain and spine. Contractual 44212-00 Nov. 9-Dec. 21* Th/6:45-7:45 pm $180(R)/$200(NR) RORC *No Class: 11/23 Children’s Theater Production - Peter Pan 6-14 years Actors will learn all the elements of being in a full theater pro duction by being cast in Peter Pan. Based on the classic story by J.M. Barrie, this musical adaption will feature all of your favorite Peter Pan characters. Students will learn how to act and project their voice, and will be taught choreography and musical num bers while gaining an understanding of stage direction. Tech week will take place the week of Nov. 6 with live perfor mances on Friday, Nov. 10 at 7:00 pm and Saturday, Nov. 11 at 2:00 pm on stage at the Rakow Adult Activities Center. This is a tuition-based program, where all actors are assigned parts based on their audition. Auditions will be held on the first night of class and all participants will be asked to sing and read from the script provided. Each actor will receive two free tickets. Workshop. It’s 3-days of artistic rock and roll imagery. During the opening act, students will draw stylized instruments and illustrate close-up portraits of rock stars. Then it’s time for a change of tune as we create a rock inspired cartoon.
