Frozen: The Broadway Musical 3 years & older

What a great Christmas gift this would make for your family! The theatrical production of Frozen brings Disney’s beloved animated film to life and fills the stage with winter magic. Set in the magical kingdom of Arendelle, the story follows two royal sisters, Elsa and Anna, as they navigate love, loyalty, and Elsa’s uncontrollable powers. In her struggle to understand her identity, Elsa questions her talents, confusing them for character flaws. Like every young woman’s coming-of-age story, she must find strength in her identity and gifts. The stage adaptation maintains the film’s enchanting music, including the iconic and award-winning song “Let It Go.” Spectacular set designs and dazzling special effects transport the audience to the wintry landscapes of Arendelle, a land populated by fantastical creatures including Olaf the snowman and Sven the Reindeer. 19559-00 Jan. 4 Sa/2:00-4:30 pm $50(R)/$58(NR) Seats are located on the main floor. We will call you when we receive the tickets and they can be picked up at the Rakow Center or the Randall Oaks Recreation Center. Lobby doors open at 1:00 pm. Theatre doors open 1:30 pm. Capital Projects Update The World of Wonders small animal building at our Randall Oaks Zoo is now open to the public. A ribbon cutting ceremony took place on October 2, with our Board of Commissioners, staff, architect Wight and Company, and contractor KWCC, Inc. This new facility will allow the zoo to remain open year-round to the community and has already seen many visitors of all ages. Funding came from the Illinois Department of Natural Resources Museum Capital Grant program ($850,000), West Dundee developer fees, and the Park District’s Capital Fund. Park District Finances The April 30, 2024, fiscal year-end resulted in a slight excess of funds compared to the beginning of the period, ensuring the avoidance of deficit spending. The Park District’s fund balance policy is reviewed annually to ensure a fiduciary approach. The agency has received the Certificate of Achievement For Excellence in Financial Reporting six times consecutively and an ticipates receiving a seventh for the fiscal year ended April 30, 2024. Enjoy the holidays with your family and friends, and we look forward to seeing you at our Dundee Township Park District facilities! Dave Peterson, CPRP Executive Director 847-428-7131 x4001 | davepeterson@dtpd.org

Please take advantage of the programs and facility offerings available at the Dundee Township Park District. Partake in the national pickleball craze and stop by one of our recreation centers. We have leagues, clinics, lessons, and open gym times for the

beginner and intermediate players. Enjoy our fitness centers and indoor pool, or participate in a recreation program. This winter, run or walk in our Frozen Oaks 5K that winds through our Randall Oaks Golf Course – it’s suitable for all ages. We have plenty of opportunities for you and your family during the winter season.

West Side Aquatic Needs Assessment and Community Engagement Update

The Board of Commissioners and staff have collaborated with FGM Architects and an aquatic advisory committee of twelve Dundee Township residents. It was determined that there is interest in looking at aquatic facility options to replace the Sleepy Hollow Pool that was closed after the 2023 season. The board and committee will complete and review preliminary designs and cost estimates. These designs were based on input from the aquatic survey results received back in the Spring from the community. The board and staff are considering all financial options as they consider the next steps. For more information, visit our website at www.dtpd.org/aquatics-study or email me at davepeterson@dtpd.org.
