Magic 101 5-12 years Children are guaranteed to have a great time as they learn a collection of fascinating and mesmerizing tricks from the “Magic Team of Gary Kantor!” Amaze family and friends with tricks that involve cards, ropes, coins, mind-reading, and more. All materials are provided, and each child receives a magic kit to take home. Children are grouped by age and always learn age-appropriate tricks. Additionally, you can sign up for this class again and again since brand new tricks are always taught at each session! Magician Gary Kantor will start by explaining the secrets to the tricks, and then both Gary and the children will practice everything in great detail. The children will have a blast as they learn exactly what to say and do when performing in front of an audience. Since this class is online, it can be taken whenever it is convenient for your schedule. Your entire family can even take this class together! Be sure to sign up for this class again since new tricks are taught each session. (When you register, you will be told the household items that are needed for the class.) Allegiance Color Guard will provide students an overview of basic flag spinning and tossing fun damentals using a variety of different guard equipment while building hand-eye coordination, self-esteem and confidence. Students are grouped by age and experience. Wear athletic clothing (no jeans or skirts), tennis shoes and have hair pulled back away from your face. Bring a water bottle. Flags are provided. Students who are registered for either one or both workshops before Jan. 30 will receive free admission to a color guard competition sponsored by Allegiance Color Guard in Algonquin on Sat., Feb. 3; via a special email to parents. Your child’s artistic fire will be ignited as they learn animation techniques through anime-themed expressions. Ordinary cameras will be transformed into lively cartoon characters through person ification. The focus will be on storytelling through drawings, featuring humorous drive-thru sequences and colorful piñata scenes. Rise and Shine Cooking Club 3-12 years Join us for a fun morning of cooking. During this hands on experience we will learn the basics of cooking and sanitizing. Each chef will make their own recipe. All participants that are in class will be provided an ingredient kit and a recipe card. New recipes are offered each week. Parents/Guardians should stay for class if your child will need one on one assistance while cooking. Students train their ears to hear, voice to sing, hands to play, and eyes to read music. Students perform for each other, play games to learn notes and rhythms, learn to write music, play in ensembles, as well as participate in recitals! Students who have previously taken lessons are welcome to be in the intermediate or advanced classes or take the beginner class to refresh their skills. Improvis ing and accompanying along with learning a more challenging repertoire is a part of the intermediate/advanced classes. A $40 material fee will be collected at the first class. Kids Cooking Camp I 4-12 years Each week we will make a different recipe: banana foster french toast, hot chocolate bombs, pizza, pretzels, all things chocolate or holiday favorites.
