Letter from the Executive Director

Grant Updates The Park District is excited to receive a $750,000 museum grant from IDNR, which will enhance the Randall Oaks Zoo facility by adding a year-round animal facility on the south side of the zoo footprint. Our zoo friends will have climate- controlled surroundings and exhibit space for visitors to enjoy. The Hickory Hill Park OSLAD grant development, adjacent to Longmeadow Parkway, is scheduled to be completed in the early summer.

It is nice to see the faces again of our program and facility users! Every step through the last two years was based on the safety of you, your family, and our employees. We hope you are comfortable returning to our facilities if you haven’t already done so, and we certainly encourage and welcome anyone wearing a face covering. Staff is preparing for our summer programs to ensure you have a wonderful experience recreating at our parks, swim pools, zoo, golf courses and other facilities.

Look for a grand opening announcement in the Spring as we unveil a park facility for the east side of our community.
