Pedal & Paddle Camp 7-13 years Join us on the adventures of biking and swimming! While not strenuous, this camp is best suited for children who enjoy riding their bike moderate distances on a daily basis. In June, campers will kayak at Busse Woods in Elk Grove Village. In July, campers are scheduled to paddleboard at The Hollows in Crystal Lake. When we aren’t on a field trip, we’ll be biking around town, typically on the Fox River Bike Trail, or cooling off at either Dolphin Cove or Sleepy Hollow Pool. All campers need to have a bike in good working condition (preferably a gear bike) and a bike helmet. Campers need to bring a backpack with a swim suit, towel, lunch, water bottle, sunscreen, and a bike lock daily. Each camper must be signed in and out each day by an autho rized adult. Hurry! Participants may additionally register for Before and After Camp Care at the Rakow Center. Please note: Fees increase $25 the Tuesday prior to camp week start date (increase is only to the camp fee, not to the camp care fees).
Survivor Camp 9-14 years A Naturalist from Dundee Township’s Open Space Program will guide campers through the woods and teach ‘survivor’ skills such as what plants are edible, first aid/life-saving skills, how to start a fire, and how to build a shelter. Drop-off and pick-up will be at Wahoo Woods - Campers should meet near the Rakow Center outdoor diving well. In inclement weather, we will meet inside the Rakow Center. Register fast; this camp has limited space. Contractual 35420-01 June 13-17 M-F/9:00 am-12:00 pm $100(R)/$120(NR) RA
