New class sessions begin in the winter, summer, and fall. The winter/spring session includes a dance recital that is held in May. Ages serve as a guideline only. Dundee Township Park District reserves the right to place dancers in classes suitable to ability.

Ballet (Preschool-Pointe) Ballet classes will help dancers with posture, flexibility, fitness, balance, self-discipline, and self-confidence. Students are taught proper body placement, body alignment, barre, and center-floor work, along with across-the-floor combinations. Contemporary (II & III) Contemporary dance encourages dancers to be versatile in their expressions and to be able to portray a wide array of movement styles and emotions. Jazz (Mini-Jazz) Jazz dance includes strength, flexibility, and con ditioning techniques and progressions including turns, kicks, and leaps. In a jazz class, the dancers also learn many fun and trendy dance steps that are used for all forms of dance. Street Dance (Kinder-III) In street dance, students will learn the basics of popping and locking, voguing, and start to learn the basics of breakdancing/hip hop. Adult Tap Exercise in a fun atmosphere. Learn tap technique and fundamental footwork. Challenge your brain and your feet learning rhythm combinations in routines. All levels welcome. Poms This class offers an exciting introduction to the world of Poms. Get moving with high-energy routines and sharp, dynamic moves! Perfect for middle to high school students interested in joining dance, cheer, or poms teams. Build tech nique, strength, and endurance while learning fun choreography. Come join the fun and shake those pom poms with confidence!
