Ishinryu Karate 5 years & older The Isshinryu Karate program has been offered through the DTPD since 1975. We offer a versatile martial art that builds confidence, discipline and practical self-defense in a fun, supportive environment. These classes are ideal for all ages and experience, using traditional Okinawan techniques to improve balance, coordination and focus, while also developing effective self-defense skills. Classes are taught by Bruce Butz and Rick Fryer. Uniforms and equipment can be purchased through the instructor. Under the guidance of Jesse Ramirez, who brings over 20 years of Judo experience, and assistant instructor Antonio Ramirez, students are challenged both physically and mentally while learning the principles, techniques, and spirit of Judo.

This program was developed for teens and adults to gain practical self-defense skills, physical fitness, and confidence in their ability to protect themselves. All classes are taught by Dr. Jeremy Butler, Shihan, who is a 5th degree black belt in the Pagoda System with over 20 years of teaching experience. Classes will include basic defense, strikes, joint locks, takedowns, and ground techniques.
