Explore Your Creativity - Senior Art Group The Senior Art Group, under the guidance of Jim Novak, offers you the opportunity to explore your creativity. If you want to discover the possibilities in mediums such as watercolor, acrylic, oil, pastels, colored pencils, etc., this is the perfect place to exper iment and get helpful advice and encouragement from fellow artists. No experience is necessary, and aspiring artists are always welcome. Drop by for a visit, meet the artists, and learn more
Holiday Luncheons These holiday luncheons take place at The Seville, 700 S. Barrington Rd., Streamwood, IL 60107. Doors open at 11:00 am. Lunch is served at 11:30 am. We understand that friends want to sit together for these events. Please have a “lead” person’s name who the table reservation will be under when registering for the party. You will not be able to be added to a table until payment is made. Tables can be from 10-12 people seated at each table. There will be free valet service at The Seville, paid for by the 50 Plus Social Club. You may have to wait in line for the service but it is well worth it. Thanksgiving Luncheon Please join us as we give thanks for another great year. Entertainment will be Frank Rossi. Book Club Meet new friends and have a great time. The Fox Valley River Library will select a book and lead a group discussion. One month prior to the session, the selected book will be available for pick up at the library. Sept. 3, Oct. 1, Nov. 5, Dec. 3 First Wednesday of the Month/10:00 am Podiatrist by Appointment Appointments are required and paperwork needs to be completed to see the doctor. Sew Much Fun Calling all craft sewers, quilters, cross stitchers, embroiderers, seamstresses – anyone who uses needles and threads to create. Come join the group where you can inspire and be inspired. There are supplies available such as sewing machines, cutting boards, cutters/scissors, rulers, iron/ironing boards, etc. for you to use or you can bring your own tools. Each participant brings their own project to work on. This is a fun group who love to create beautiful items from pieces of fabric stitched with love. Continuous weekly program. Thursdays • 12:00- 3:00 pm • $25 for a 10-class punch pass card Quarterly Pancake Breakfast & Bingo Join us for breakfast and enjoy good food and fellowship in a friendly atmosphere. Breakfast includes 2 pancakes, 2 sausages, fruit and orange juice. Breakfast is served at 9:00 am with penny bingo to follow at 9:30 am. Take advantage of services provided by various social services organizations in our local and/or surrounding area. A member from Senior Services Associates visits our center on the second Monday of each month. AARP Smart Driver Course A volunteer instructor conducts this one-day course. Upon successful completion, students will receive a certificate and may be eligible for a discount on their auto insurance. Please bring a sack lunch and your check to class with you. Oct. 10 F/8:00 am-4:00 pm Fee: $20 payable to AARP for members/$25 for non-members AAC
