General Info Letter From the Executive Director Thank you to our Aquatic Advisory Committee! The aquatic advisory committee donated their time and exper tise while serving on this panel during 2024/2025. They assisted the Board of Commissioners and staff while working through three phases that FGM Architects and Counsilman Hunsak er facilitated. These committee members included: Theresa Baughman, Marlene Berman, Mike Bourbon, Pam Heimsath, Luen Khaw, Patrick Malia, Eric Moser, Emily Niemi, John Osman ski, Shannon Podzimek, Ronda Shotsberger and Kelly Thomas. Each member brought a unique perspective and represented well the different villages which make up our Dundee Township community. Phase 1 included surveying our residents and stakeholders through engagement to better understand the opportunities and constraints of aquatics in the Dundee Township commu nity. Phase 2 compiled the feedback from the community and created two preliminary designs (outdoor and indoor aquatic facilities) and cost estimates to build these facilities. Phase 3 looked at the operating costs of running these facilities, project ing revenues and expenditures, based on similar size facilities within similar regions. We learned that the construction costs for an indoor facility would be approximately $36.7 million and for an outdoor facility would be $16.8 million. The costs to subsidize the operations of these aquatic facilities would be ($782,000)/year for an indoor pool and ($182,000)/year for an outdoor pool. The chart below was presented by Counsilman-Hunsaker at the April 2 board/ committee meeting.
