Photography II - Improving your Picture Taking Skills 18 years & older This course introduces the creative side of traditional film or digital photography. Topics include use of color, improving use of texture in the photo, and lighting. Participants will have an opportunity to practice taking pictures during class. If you are looking to improve your picture taking skills, this is one class you won’t want to miss. Participants must bring a digital camera to class. We discuss camera settings, how and when to use the settings. Discuss types of camera gear for night photos and using a shutter release remote to shoot long exposures. Learn how to shoot at night so you won’t have to edit the photos or can learn how to enhance your night photos. In the saddle you will learn the basics of riding at the walk and trot. Lessons will be held in our indoor arena during inclement weather. First day of class is orientation and groundwork. Riders should wear jeans or Jodhpur pants and hard soled riding or hiking boots with a small, low heel. Based on the historic Great Lakes voyages of Christmas tree ships during the late 1800s and early 1900s, The Christmas Schooner tells the true story of a Michigan shipping captain who braves the deadly winter weather to bring Christ mas trees to homesick German-American families in turn-of the century Chicago. Rehearsals will be held on Sundays from 1:00-4:00 pm from Oct. 8 - Dec. 3 at the Adult Activity Center. Additional rehearsals will be added on Tuesday evenings from 6:00-8:00 pm beginning Nov. 14. Performances will be held onstage at the Adult Activity Center on Friday Dec. 8, and Sat urday Dec. 9 at 7:00 pm and Sunday Dec. 10 at 2:00 pm. Roles will be assigned based on auditions. Auditions will be held from 1:00-4:00 pm on Sunday Oct. 1. Please email steeple@dtpd.org or stop by the Rakow Center front desk to sign up for an audi tion slot. Walk-in auditions will also be permitted.
