Dance/Flag Spinning

Hip Hop I 6-9 years Learn age-appropriate dance moves to upbeat music with an emphasis on rhythm and attitude. 44315-00 Sept. 15-Dec. 15* F/5:30-6:30 pm $112(R)/$132(NR) RA *No Class: 10/6, 10/27, 11/24 Hip Hop II 9-12 years Join us in dancing to upbeat music! While emphasizing rhythm and attitude, dancers will also be encouraged to choreograph for a group. 44316-00 Sept. 15-Dec. 15* F/6:35-7:35 pm $112(R)/$132(NR) RA *No Class: 10/6, 10/27, 11/24 Contemporary II 9-12 years A style of expressive dance combined with classical, jazz, and modern elements to connect the mind and body through movement. Contemporary III 11-18 years A style of expressive dance that is combined with classical, jazz, and modern elements to connect the body and mind through movement. Students will work on refining technique and per formance skills. Additional enrollment in Ballet is required for this class. 44307-00 Sept. 13-Dec. 6* W/6:00-7:00 pm $123(R)/$143(NR) RA *No Class: 11/22 Mini Jazz 4-6 years Learn fun choreography to upbeat music and basic to interme diate leaps, turns, and jumps—a perfect class for those who like to dance. Prior experience dancing is helpful but not required. 44322-00 Sept. 9-Dec. 9* Sa/10:00-10:45 am $105(R)/$125(NR) RA *No Class: 10/7, 11/25, 12/2 Advanced Jazz 12-18 years Dancers will be challenged and improve their jazz technique. Learn new choreography and will have the chance to perform their routine at events. Prior dance experience is required. Final class enrollment is up to the instructor’s discretion. 44356-00 Sept. 13-Dec. 6 * W/7:00-8:00 pm $123(R)/$143(NR) RA *No Class: 11/22 Flag Spinning- Level 1 8-14 years Toss a flag; catch the fun! Level 1 is open to beginners - no experience necessary! In this class, students will learn to spin and toss a flag while moving to music - just like they do at football games and parades. Students will learn basic color guard skills, and learn group choreography through the art of spinning flags and dance technique. Family and friends are invited to a special showcase performance at the last class. Flag spinning, tossing, dancing, technique and intermediate level choreography will be taught by Allegiance Color Guard coaches. This class can also be a great opportunity to supplement and enrich your marching band guard experience! Content will be differen tiated according to students’ abilities. Flag Spinning Please wear comfortable athletic clothing (no jeans or skirts), tennis shoes, and have hair pulled back and secured away from the face and shoulders. Bring a water bottle. Flags are provided or you can purchase your own from the instructor. 5-7 years This class for younger children teaches basic flag positions and beginner flag spinning fundamentals while moving, marching and dancing to a variety of music. Ribbons, swing flags, and tall flags are provided. Bring a water bottle and a smile. Enrollment in pre-flag spinning several times through out the year helps with building skills and confidence.
